Greetings!
My experience in design started at an early age. Being the daughter of an architect, I was taught to view the world through the lens of design – coloring in my childhood coloring book I was taught human hair is not just one solid color but a variety of colors that bring interest in the natural light.
After graduating with a BFA in Interior Space Planning and Design I went to work as a designer at a Herman Miller Dealer in Boise, ID. That led to a wonderful opportunity at a dealer that brought me to Seattle, WA where I have lived for the last two and a half decades. At both dealers I learned all the inner workings of an office furniture dealership – marketing, library organization, project management, space planning and design, and sales. As a dealer designer I grew from space planning that maximized the number of workstations in a space to designing an organic balance between workspace, human space, and group space. I soon found out that my creativeness led to being able to visualize the client’s point of view and translate that into how furniture can relate to the space their office resides in and being a trusted advisor.
One piece of advice that has stuck with me was from a talented architect in Seattle, WA – he said to experience the full spectrum of our industry you must work for a small company, a large corporation and work for yourself. I am blessed to have been able to do all three and thrilled to be currently managing my own multi-line independent representative firm that covers the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. I love interacting with the A&D world and partnering with manufacturers and their dealers to bring beautiful and functional spaces to a brilliant life.
